I was 39 weeks pregnant when I realized I hadn’t felt the baby move in a bit. I did all the usual things to promote movement but to no avail. The doctor confirmed there was no heartbeat. We delivered the next day after being induced. Our baby died for unknown reasons—he was healthy, the placenta and cord were healthy, nothing was wrong.
