I Pray Every Day: Antonia & Branko’s Story

I lost my baby girl at 22 weeks. My water broke because of ureaplasma. I laboured for three days, but my cervix was not opening up at all, so they gave me injections. The pain was unimaginable, but the physical pain was even worse than that.

I gave birth naturally, but she was too small, only 500g. She wasn’t breathing when I gave birth to her. I was in hospital for more than 20 days, and considering that I could have died, my family was happy to see that I was alive. But I was in depression for three months.

I pray every day for her, for my family to stay healthy, and that in the future something like this wouldn’t happen again. For her due date, I was with my boyfriend, and we blew up helium balloons and let them go.
